That kid looks anything but fresh!
What exactly are papadams?
Dave Pye
Indian crispy bread type appetizer thingys. Rahul should have saved them for Grandma, as they were hers and she’d been looking forward to them all day whilst washing saris in the Gangees.

I love Indian food – nothin better than a curry coma – but this kid needs to definitely lay off the Nan Pan.
Just for slang reference… Not only is papadam bread – in Australia – at least the places I know – it was slang for someone from India or Pakistan. Someone from Afghanistan was called a dirty afghani. Slang terms change from region to region. I am not saying I agree with them – but they are humorous. I have lived in Ohio for most of my life… never knew there was a slang word for Indian – other than a Packi… In Wooster, Ohio the term that was consistently used to describe someone from the Middle East, India or Pakistan was Yahby… funny – I haven’t used that word since I left Wooster until right now. The term to describe someone from Quebec was Quebecqueer – so original.

In New Zealand you might call one a “Curry-Muncher”, but then you’d get a good punch in the face – and deserve it too.

Ok, this is a *terrible* joke from up here in Vancouver, but based on a true story. So, several years ago we were experiencing these brutal Indo-Canadian (that’s the PC term for an East Indian Canadian) gang wars. One of the gang members went missing only to be found all burnt up inside a pizza oven. After further investigation, it was discovered that his name was “Amir Cinder”.

Graeme came close this week. He almost had me at Vishnu. But not quite. Better luck next week, everyone. Who will be the first to unseat me from quotelet supremacy?!
